MEDCOM Ambulance Districts

District Service
1 North County/Jupiter Medical Center EMS
2 American Medical Response
4 Everglades Regional Hospital

Palm Beach County MEDCOM dispatches all the private ambulance services as well as handles the Paramedic to Hospital (Telemetry) communications and MED channel assignment. The dispatchers are actually Palm Beach County Fire-Rescue dispatchers who are assigned to the MEDCOM radio positions. All ambulances have identifiers that show which district they belong to (100 series are North County/JMC, 200 series are AMR, and 400 series are Everglades). The Districts are further divided into zones. District 1 has zone 1, District 2 has zones 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7, and District 4 has zones 9 and 10. These zones are only used to give the ambulance service a rough idea of where the call is located.
